  7. ALL INDIA CENTRAL BANK STAFF FEDERATION (AICBSF)
  8. ALL INDIA CENTRAL BANK WORKERS’ ORGANIZATION (AICBWO)
and consisting of 100% of employees and officers of the Bank, a call for an All India Strike on 22.01.2007 (Monday) has been given against
  • ATTACKS ON TRADE UNION RIGHTS
  • UILATERAL CHANGES IN STAFF RELATED POLICIES
  • HARASSMENTS OF EMPLOYEES AND OFFICERS
  • NON-IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREED DECISIONS
  • VINDICTIVE ATTACKS ON LEADERS
A reign of terror has been let loose in the Bank by the Management by resorting to memos, charge sheets, transfers, suspensions – all with a view to harass and terrorise the staff. Basic trade union rights are being denied in flagrant violation of law. Instructions have been given that no employee can leave their place without permission of management. In staff meetings and communications, all types of defamatory and unparliamentary language is being used to denigrate the leaders, unions and employees. A war-like situation has been built up by the management. It is an all-out effort to destroy the unions and attack the employees and officers instead of taking the help and cooperation of the staff to develop the Bank and its business. Unilateralism and whimsical decisions have become the fashionable policies burying bilateralism and collective bargaining.

To protest against these unprecedented attacks, the strike call has been given. After the 22nd January strike, 8 zonal level strikes will be observed during February 2007 and, if necessary, further continuous strikes will be organized in March 2007.

All the efforts of discussions and conciliation having failed, the UFCBU is left with no other alternative than to proceed with the strike. Hence, all employees and officers in all the branches all over the country will observe Strike on 22.01.2007.
